1:4 scale final model of greenhouse intervention for Tubular Begonia. In designing the greenhouse, I wanted to emphasize the plant's unruly nature, as well as its ability to grow upside down and right-side up. The intervention I designed uses cantilevered extensions from which hang tubular begonias, surrounding the visitor, and two floors made of glass and filled with begonias. In effect, the visitor feels as though they are swallowed by the plant's unruly natural beauty. In addition, the curve pattern of the extensions follow the growth pattern of the Tubular Begonia plant in section.
